Anti-Inflammatory Pumpkin Seed & Turmeric Hummus

Jul 17, 2025

Chronic pain and inflammation don’t just need treatment—they need fuel. This delicious pumpkin seed and turmeric hummus is a snack that fights back.

Packed with anti-inflammatory turmeric, magnesium-rich pumpkin seeds, and healthy fats, it’s the perfect addition to your healing routine.

Why It’s Healing:

  • Pumpkin seeds are high in magnesium, which supports muscle and nerve health.
  • Turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory that helps with joint and nerve pain.
  • Chickpeas provide plant-based protein and fiber for stable energy.
  • Olive oil delivers healthy fats that fight inflammation.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 Tbsp raw pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
  • 2 Tbsp tahini
  • 1 clove garlic pressed- optional
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Warm water as needed (for texture)

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor or high-powered blender, combine chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, turmeric, cumin, and salt.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. While blending, slowly drizzle in the olive oil.
  4. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Transfer to a bowl and drizzle with a little extra olive oil or sprinkle with paprika or hemp seeds if desired.

How to Serve:

  • With raw veggie sticks (carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers)
  • As a sandwich spread
  • On whole-grain toast
  • In wraps or pita pockets
