Warming Fennel and Ginger Tea

Oct 28, 2026

A fragrant, gently spiced cup for a cool afternoon. Fennel brings a light anise flavor, while fresh ginger adds a little warmth. Make a small pot and take a few quiet minutes to enjoy it.

Makes 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds, lightly crushed
  • 3 thin slices fresh ginger
  • A squeeze of lemon or a little honey, optional

Preparation

  1. Bring the water to a gentle simmer in a small saucepan.
  2. Add the fennel seeds and ginger. Cover and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and steep, covered, for another 5 minutes.
  4. Strain into two cups. Let cool to a comfortable drinking temperature, then add lemon or honey if desired.

Make it your own

For a milder cup, use less ginger or shorten the steeping time. Taste before adding honey, and enjoy the tea freshly made.

A note about ingredients
