Garlic-Thyme Vegetable Broth

Apr 29, 2026

Garlic-Thyme Vegetable Broth
“The Immunity Hug in a Mug”

This broth is slow-simmered nourishment designed to support your body during allergy season, stress, or recovery. Garlic provides natural antimicrobial support, thyme helps open and soothe the respiratory system, and vegetables deliver essential minerals your body can easily absorb.

It’s light enough to sip throughout the day, yet powerful enough to feel its grounding and restorative effects.

Ingredients

Base:

  • 1 whole bulb garlic (lightly crushed, skins on or off)
  • 1 large onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 6-8 cups water or vegetable stock

Herbs & Healing Boosters:

  • 1-2 tbsp fresh thyme (or 1 tbsp dried thyme)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 small piece ginger (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tsp sea salt (adjust to taste)
  • Black pepper to taste

Optional Add-ins (for extra support):

  • Mushroom slices (immune support)
  • Spinach or kale (added at the end)
  • A squeeze of lemon (brightens + vitamin C boost)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, add onion, carrots, celery, and garlic.
  2. Pour in water or vegetable stock. Bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 45-60 minutes.
  4. Add thyme, bay leaf, ginger, salt, and pepper halfway through cooking.
  5. Strain if desired or leave as a rustic broth.
  6. Add greens or lemon just before serving.
  7. Sip warm, slowly, and intentionally.

Fun Facts

  • Garlic’s active compound allicin is released when it is crushed or chopped and left to rest briefly.
  • Thyme has been traditionally used in herbal medicine for respiratory infections and cough support.
  • Warm broths can help stimulate digestion and support the body’s natural detox pathways.

Tips for Best Results

  • Let garlic sit for 5-10 minutes after crushing before cooking to maximize benefits.
  • Simmer gently — boiling too hard can reduce delicate herbal compounds.
  • Make a larger batch and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Drink it warm throughout the day for steady support rather than all at once.

Conclusion

Garlic-Thyme Vegetable Broth is more than just a comforting drink — it’s a simple daily ritual that helps your body recover, reset, and strengthen itself naturally.

Whether you’re fighting off seasonal fatigue or just need something grounding, this is nourishment you can return to anytime.
